DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team lost its first home match of the 2015-16 season to Hood College, 6-1 on Sunday.
The Aggies dropped to 0-2 and the Blazers have a 1-3 record.
After losing the first set, 6-0, sophomore
Alex Weiss took four games in the second set but came up short at first singles. Senior
Colin Evoy suffered a 6-2, 6-1 defeat at second singles and freshman
Nicolas Princetta was shut out at third singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Junior
Harry Guenst surrendered the first game in his match at fourth singles before retiring. Sophomore
Calum Devaney picked up the lone DelVal win by default at fifth singles. Neither team produced a player at sixth singles.
Weiss/Guenst and Evoy/Princetta conceded identical 8-1 decisions at first and second doubles. Both squads did not have a team for a third doubles match.
The Aggies are back on the court for the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships on Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18.
