Box Score GALLOWAY (NJ) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team was shut out by Stockton University, 3-0 in its non-conference tilt on Monday.
The Aggies drop to 3-4-1 while the Ospreys own a 7-1 record.
DelVal was in for a tough test against a Stockton team that was riding a three-game win streak, allowing just one goal in that span. In fact, the Ospreys have surrendered just five tallies in eight games, including four shutouts.
Stockton's first goal came with 23:11 remaining in the first half. Senior Tim Sost sent a pass ahead for junior Anthony Colofranson, who tipped it into the Aggie goal. Sost followed with a marker of his own with just 1:06 to go in the period. It was his first of the season and senior Jeff Morgan notched the assist.
Colofranson had the Ospreys' final tally with 18:36 left in the game. He scored on a breakaway off a lead pass from junior Tyler Mills. DelVal could not find any room offensively against the brick wall of the Stockton defense and was unable to get off a shot in the contest.
Junior Chris Giraudin and sophomore Brian Swider each played a half and combined for the shutout. Freshman
Connor Hedgepeth saw his second start of the year for the Aggies and stopped 11 shots.
DelVal returns home for a non-conference match against Moravian College on Wednesday, September 23 (4:00 p.m.).
