Box Score CHESTER (PA) – Brielle Errico scored the lone goal of the game with just 1:07 remaining to lift Widener University to a 1-0, non-conference triumph over visiting Delaware Valley University.
Both teams saw its record go to 2-3-1 with the result. For the Aggies, it snapped a two-game unbeaten streak (1-0-1).
Widener took 34 shots on the evening and it was the final one that found the back of the net as Errico took a pass from Nicole Foschini and notched her second goal of the season. The Pride also had 10 corner opportunities in the game compared to just one by DelVal.
The Aggies had four shots with two from
Karla Keler and one apiece by
Nikki Dunlap and
Starr Sargent-Boone. Senior
Brenna Coll, playing her first of soccer after a highly successful basketball career at DelVal, was outstanding all evening and kept the Aggies in the contest. She finished with a season-best 17 saves (nine in the first half, eight in the second half).
The Aggies return to their home field on Saturday, September 19 when they host Drew University for a non-conference contest.
