BETHLEHEM (PA) – A rain-interrupted contest saw host Moravian College post a 5-0, non-conference victory over Delaware Valley University in the men's tennis season opener for both teams.
The match was shortened by the weather as soon as the fifth and deciding team point was achieved. Two of those contests came in doubles as the number one Aggie tandem of Colin Evoy and Alex Weiss dropped an 8-2 decision to Matt Tuorto and John Wylie. Harry Guenst and Nicolas Princetta fell, 8-1, at second doubles to Giovanni Lombardi and C.J Widdifield.
Moravian picked up its final three team points with defaults wins at third doubles and fifth and sixth singles. Evoy, Guenst, Princetta and Weiss were in singles competition when the match was halted.
DelVal will host Hood College on Sunday, September 27.
