DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University won its second match in a row, including the first-ever at home, as the Aggies swept a 9-0 decision over Bryn Athyn College.
Delaware Valley improved to 2-11 overall while the Lions fell to 1-10. The Aggies will wrap up their inaugural season with a Freedom Conference match at Eastern University on Saturday.
It was all Delaware Valley on Senior Day as the Aggies honored their lone senior,
Karin Gasparini. Gasparini did not play on Thursday.
Delaware Valley dropped just seven games over the six singles matches and recorded shutouts in all three doubles. At number one singles,
Jessica Oszvart defeated Nicole Rogan, 6-1 and 6-1 while
Melanie Mayhew notched a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Sydney Elder at second singles.
Natalie Hoffman posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at third singles and
Tess Hansler did not lose a game at the fourth singles spot.
Emilyann Maialetti dispatched Catherine Kirk, 6-1 and 6-1 at number five singles while
Laken Henry took care of business with a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles.
Oszvart and Mayhew teamed up at number one doubles while Hoffman and Hansler and Maialetti and Henry were the remaining Aggie pairings as they all notched 8-0 triumphs.
