AGGIE WOMEN'S TENNIS SUFFERS 7-2 SETBACK AT FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON (NJ) -- Melanie Mayhew and Natalie Hoffman picked up wins in singles competition to highlight Delaware Valley College in its 7-2 loss at Freedom Conference foe FDU-Florham.

The Devils improved to 3-6 and 1-1 while the Aggies fell to 0-8 and 0-2.

Mayhew took on Amelia Vetto in second singles and bounced back from a 6-2 loss in the first set to take the second by the same score and force a tiebreaker. She then edged Vetto, 11-9, in the extra session for the win.

Hoffman took the first set, 6-3, over Jill Duke at number three singles. Hoffman followed with a 7-5 triumph in the second for the straight set win.

Hoffman and Tess Hansler took four games at number two doubles while Laken Henry and Emilyann Maialetti took five games at number three doubles to highlight the other Delaware Valley showings.
