Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team dropped its final game of the season, 3-0 to visiting King's College in a conference matchup on Saturday.
The Aggies ended the year with a 4-12-3 record and they went 0-5-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom. The Lady Monarchs finished the regular season 8-6-2 overall and secured the third seed in the conference tournament with a 3-2-2 mark. King's will travel to the second seed DeSales University in the semifinal round.
DelVal honored its four seniors prior to the contest:
Brenna Coll,
Nikki Dunlap,
Shayna Schaeffer and
Mary Taylor.
The Lady Monarchs registered the first goal with 6:25 remaining in the first half. Freshman Mallory Fox crossed the ball from the right side into the middle of the box. Freshman Lauren Phillips received the pass and shot into the left side of the net.
The Aggies battled in the second period, looking for the equalizer, but King's put the game away with 1:40 to go. Freshman Carolyn Weber beat the goalkeeper to a loose ball and deposited it into an open net.
Senior Jessica Natale stopped three shots in the win while Coll made two saves for DelVal. The Lady Monarchs held a slight 8-7 advantage in shots and had five corner kicks to the Aggies' three.
