Box Score 3 DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University picked up its second victory of the season as the Aggies went 1-1 in their home tri-match on Saturday. DelVal opened with a 3-0 loss to William Paterson University, but bounced back with a 3-0 triumph over Rosemont College.
The win over Rosemont (1-21) improved DelVal to 2-17 overall and they took the match by set scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-11. The Aggies racked up 26 kills to just 14 attack errors and they dished out 16 service aces in the contest.
DelVal jumped out quickly, building a 15-6 lead in the first set. The Ravens cut it down to three, 22-19, before the Aggies scored three of the final four points. The second set was tied at 9-9 when DelVal scored 10 of the next 12 points and cruised from there. In the third, the Aggies scored 17 of the first 22 points and ended the match when reserve
Roney Lu picked up the first kill of her collegiate career.
Taylor Klecan led DelVal with eight kills and seven digs while
Kayla Bracken had six kills, seven digs and five aces.
Kourtney Campbell added six kills, six digs and four aces.
Samantha Nields had four kills and two blocks while
Nicole Daigneault dished out 20 assists.
Morgan Rollins paced Rosemont with nine kills and eight digs. Sabrina Heggan had 10 assists,
The opening match for DelVal saw the Aggies fall to William Paterson by set scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-12. The Pioneers had 38 kills to just 15 by DelVal. They led by 12-2 and 16-2 scores in the first two sets and then won 10 of the final 12 points in the third set.
Erin Roach led William Paterson with 12 kills while Nicole Spicer added nine kills and nine digs. Kendall Caruso finished with 20 assists. For the Aggies, Bracket notched eight kills and 15 digs while Daigneault produced 15 digs and 13 assists. Campbell and Klecan combined for five kills and 14 digs.
The middle match of the day saw William Paterson (14-12) defeat Rosemont by straight set scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-14. Roach had 21 kills and Caruso handed out 27 assists in the win. Rollins had 11 kills for the Ravens.
