Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Misericordia University produced a stellar defensive effort in a 2-0 win over the Delaware Valley University field hockey team in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game on Saturday.
The Aggies fell to 6-10 overall and they are 2-4 in the conference. The Cougars brought their record to 7-9 with a 4-2 MAC Freedom mark.
It was Senior Day for DelVal as they honored their four seniors:
Emily Aldridge,
Becca Paoletti,
Taylor Prichett and
Kate Wilson.
The teams were scoreless at halftime. With 25:20 to go in the second period, senior Lindsay Hischak put Misericordia ahead off a penalty corner. She put in a rebound after the initial shot by sophomore Colby Eldridge went off the left post. Senior Jennifer O'Neill added an insurance goal with 16:15 remaining. She snuck the ball in between the goalkeeper and the right post. Hischak had the assist.
The Cougars did not allow the Aggies to get a shot off. Senior Angela Pasquini recorded the shutout. Aldridge stopped nine shots for DelVal.
The Aggies travel to 19
th-ranked Eastern University for a MAC Freedom contest on Tuesday, October 27 (3:30 p.m.).
