Box Score MADISON (NJ) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie at FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match on Friday.
The Aggies' overall record stands at 3-10-2 and they are 0-3-1 in the conference. The Devils have an 8-6-2 record with a 1-1-2 MAC Freedom mark.
FDU-Florham put pressure on the DelVal defense, finishing with a 23-8 advantage in shots and 5-0 in corner kicks. However, the Aggies held their ground and held most of the shot attempts to outside the box. DelVal was led by outstanding efforts from senior
Shayna Schaeffer and sophomore
Brooke Kitting. The duo combined to bottle up junior Brittni Calleo, who was a second team All-Conference selection last season for the Devils. Junior
Kayley Erla and sophomore
Somer Meadath also produced good play.
Senior
Brenna Coll was exceptional in the Aggies' goal, stopping 12 shots. Junior Annie George made two saves for FDU-Florham.
DelVal visits DeSales University for a MAC Freedom contest on Wednesday, October 21 (3:00 p.m.).
