Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team dropped its Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest to Wilkes University, 3-0 on Homecoming & Family Weekend.
The Aggies are 3-9-1 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Lady Colonels have a 4-7-1 record with a 1-1 MAC Freedom mark.
Wilkes got the first goal just over 21 minutes in when junior Dianna Connor beat out a defender and chipped the ball in over the goalkeeper. The Colonels tallied two goals in the second half. Senior Courtney Krasnomowitz's corner kick was headed in by sophomore Ema Sabovic with 30:20 remaining. Freshman Alyssa Shaver scored an unlikely goal with 11:34 to go. She sent an intended cross from a sharp angle on the right side. The trajectory fooled the goalkeeper and the ball found its way into the net.
Senior Kate Mahoney stopped one shot for the win. She played 84 minutes before giving way to senior Lisa Semetti for the final six. Senior
Brenna Coll made nine saves for the Aggies. Wilkes limited DelVal to four shots and no corner kicks.
The Aggies host Eastern University in another conference match on Tuesday, October 13 (7:00 p.m.).
