Box Score CHESTER (PA) – Stefania Swider continued her hot streak as she scored two goals while the Delaware Valley College defense permitted just two shots on the evening as the Aggies posted a 3-0 shutout at non-conference foe Widener University.
 
The victory put Delaware Valley back over the .500 mark at 5-4 as it now prepares to start Freedom Conference play this Saturday, September 27 at DeSales University. Widener fell to 2-6 with the loss.
 
Swider opened the scoring with just 10:32 off the clock as she slapped in a loose ball in front of the cage. It marked the fourth straight game that the sophomore recorded a goal.
 
The Aggies made it 2-0 with 2:28 left in the opening stanza as freshman Carlie Baldus scored her second goal of the season. Then it was Swider again early in the second half as Lydia Spakosky sent a pass to the left post and Swider was there for the tip-in. Swider now has six goals and 13 points to tie for the team lead in both categories.
 
It was plenty of scoring for the Delaware Valley defense as it held the Pride without a shot until there was just 13:12 left in the game. Widener added another attempt 35 seconds left but neither shot was on goal. The Aggies, meanwhile, had 17 totals shot with 12 on goal.
 
Emily Aldridge was credited with her third shutout of the season while Maggie Karmeris had nine saves for the Pride.
