Box Score READING (PA) –
Kelsey Zook scored two goals and assisted on another as Delaware Valley College ran its winning streak to three games thanks to a 3-1, non-conference road triumph over Albright College.
The Aggies improved to 4-3 with the victory while the Lions saw their record fall to 0-6.
Zook, a two-time all-Freedom Conference midfielder, set up the first tally of the late afternoon as she fed
Stefania Swider for Swider's third goal of the season. It came with 8:34 remaining in the first half and it was the lone goal of the stanza.
Zook then made it 2-0 just 8:55 into the second as, off a corner opportunity, she took a pass from
Taylor Prichett and blasted home her second goal of the year. The assist by Prichett upped the junior's career point total to 76 and put her in third place on the Delaware Valley all-time scoring list. She surpassed Aggie Hall of Famer Diane Bradley, who compiled 75 points from 1979 to 1982
Delaware Valley was awarded a penalty stroke with 9:04 remaining and it was Zook who beat Albright goalkeeper Gabby Frake for the 3-0 advantage.
The Aggies' bid for a third consecutive shutout ended with 7:43 to go as the Lions' Jessie Leonardis scored off an assist from Amanda Smith. It was the first goal allowed by Delaware Valley in 244 minutes and 17 seconds of action since Elizabethtown picked up its final tally in a 3-0 win eight days ago.
The Aggies outshot Albright, 26-15, and also held a 5-4 advantage in corners.
Emily Aldridge was credited with five saves in the win while Frake had 15 stops at the other end.
