DELVAL FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO CONFERENCE FOE KING'S, 2-1

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – King's College scored two goals in the first 11:24 of the game and rode those tallies to a 2-1 win over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The Lady Monarchs improved to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in league action while the Aggies saw their records fall to 5-7 and 0-2.

King's dominated in the early going and struck just 5:16 in as Alyssa Monaghan grabbed her own rebound and deposited her 12th goal of the season. A little more than six minutes later, Brianna DiMaggio got to a ball on the right side of the cage and put it in for her sixth tally of the year.

Delaware Valley cut its deficit in half with 6:42 left in the opening stanza as the Aggies entered the circle and Jessica Summers was able to slide a ball forward to Stefania Swider, who scored her team-best seventh goal of the year.

After a first half where the two teams combined for 18 shots (12 King's, 6 Delaware Valley), there were just 10 opportunities in the second stanza with the Aggies managing just three. They had two corners as the clocked ticked under the three-minute mark and got one their shots off the second corner, but the Kelsey Zook attempt was stopped by Lady Monarch goalkeeper Paige Tedik.

Tedik finished with five saves in the game while Delaware Valley's Emily Aldrige was credited with 12 stops.
