Box Score CHESTERTOWN (MD) – Washington College scored a goal late in each half, en route to a 2-0 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.
The Shorewomen's first goal came with 4:38 left in the opening stanza as Emani Silva sent a shot from 20 yards out into the opposite corner. It remained 1-0 for the next 44 minutes until Maribeth Harrington took a corner pass from Silva and scored with 5:20 to go.
Washington (3-5-1) held a 17-10 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corners.
Shayna Schaeffer, who has moved into net to replace the injured
Claudia Winters, had six saves in her second game between the pipes for the Aggies (3-6-1). Melissa Barry had seven saves and the win for the Shorewomen.
Delaware Valley will now open Freedom Conference play at Manhattanville College on Saturday, October 4.
