Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College scored two goals in a two-minute span, including the game-winning tally by
Kelsey Zook with 6:02 remaining, as the Aggies rallied for a 3-2, non-conference victory over visiting Arcadia University.
Delaware Valley improved to 2-0 on the season with both victories coming in come-from-behind fashion on its new turf field. Last Friday, the squad rallied for a 2-0, second-half deficit to post a 3-2 overtime triumph over St. Mary's College.
The Aggies hit the scoreboard first just 12:08 into the game as, after a scramble in front, Zook fed
Taylor Prichett for her second goal of the season. However, the lead was short-lived as the Knights (1-1) came down just 28 seconds later and scored on a Rachel Longenecker tally off a Molly Goldstein assist.
It was still 1-1 at halftime and for the first 10 minutes of the second stanza until Arcadia struck on a corner opportunity. Goldstein sent a pass across to the far post to Katrina Dull, who tapped it in for her second goal of the year.
Delaware Valley began its comeback with 8:22 remaining as Prichett connected again, this time off a feed from Friday's overtime hero,
Jessica Summers, to tie it up. Shortly after, Zook wound up at the top of the circle and sent a blast into the cage for her first goal of the year. The Aggie defense made the goal stand for the win.
Arcadia held advantage of 20-14 in shots and 13-5 in corners.
Sandra Edwards made 13 saves for Delaware Valley while Brittany Hodson had six stops for the Knights.
