DELVAL MEN'S SOCCER PICKS UP 1-1 TIE WITH MORAVIAN

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Freshman Alec Scarano scored his first collegiate goal with 10:27 remaining in regulation as Delaware Valley College earned a 1-1, double-overtime tie with non-conference foe Moravian College.

The standstill gave the Aggies an overall record of 3-2-1 while the Greyhounds saw their mark go to 3-2-2.

Moravian struck first as, with 13:58 remaining in the first half, Brett Harder sent a free kick into the box and right to teammate Saul Marcial. Marcial deposited it inside the far post for the 1-0 lead.

It stayed that way for the next 48-plus minutes. Adam Roland lofted a pass into the box and Scarano beat two defenders to the ball. He then got his shot past Greyhound goalkeeper Brian Boland for the tying tally.

Both teams had a golden opportunity in the first overtime with Delaware Valley getting its chance as Roland's header off a corner kick went over the net. In the second extra stanza, the Aggies nearly won it with about a minute remaining as Justin Mannato got a knee on a throw-in and it went just wide of the net.

The Aggies had a 23-22 edge in shots and an 8-6 advantage in corners. Chase Clement finished with nine saves for Delaware Valley, including two in the first overtime. Boland had seven stops for Moravian.
