DELVAL FIELD HOCKEY SEES THREE-GAME WINNING STREAK COME TO AN END

Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley College field hockey lost for the first time in 2013 as the Aggies dropped a 4-0 decision at non-conference foe Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Delaware Valley had won its first three contests before Wednesday. Meanwhile, the victory improved the Griffins to 2-1.

Gwynedd-Mercy scored the only goal it would need 9:44 into the contest as Maria Karidas began her big day with a tally of a Megan Senkeleski. The Griffins made it 2-0 just 4:22 before halftime as Stephanie Bacho pounced on a rebound right in front of the Aggie cage.

Karidas assisted on Katie Hickson's goal five minutes into the second stanza. She then took the team's penalty stroke with 11:16 remaining and scored for her fourth and fifth points of the contest.

Gwynedd-Mercy outshot Delaware Valley, 11-6. Kelly Kruk had five saves and the shutout while Sandra Edwards made four stops for the Aggies.
