CENTREVILLE (MA) -- Delaware Valley College junior
Alexis Maylor finished in third place and set a school record in the heptathlon as she and teammate
EmmaRose Boyle competed at the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Maylor notched 4,435 points at the event to trail only Jaclyn Konopka of MIT (4,625 points) and Taylor Hudson of Cortland State (4.511 points) in the field of 13 competitors. Her point total easily shattered her previous school-record total of 4,244 points that she set at last year's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships. The performance also put Maylor on the cusp of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships as the top 22 scorers throughout the year reach the national stage (performances at other events this week are unknown and there are other championships taking place this weekend). The NCAA field for all events will be announced early next week.
Boyle, a freshman, competed in the javelin and her throw of 99 feet, 1 inch placed her 26th out of 29 competitors.
