Sam Ricks scored the lone goal of the second half as Delaware Valley College picked up a 2-1, non-conference victory at host Baptist Bible College.
The Aggies improved to 3-9-1 overall, including a 1-1-1 mark in their last three games. The Defenders saw their record drop to 1-9-1.
Ricks' tally, her first of the year, came just 13:02 into the second stanza as she took a crossing pass from
Mary Taylor and one-timed it into the net. Ricks had six of her team's 27 shots on the afternoon.
Delaware Valley's defense took care of the rest as it allowed just five shots in the second half (11 for the game). Three of them were on net and
Julie Burnell stopped them as part of her five-save performance.
The Aggies struck first in the game as freshman
Elisha Taney notched her first collegiate goal off a corner opportunity with 31:36 remaining in the first half. Baptist Bible matched it 13 minutes later with an unassisted tally by Shalynne Laman. It remained 1-1 for the next 31 minutes before Ricks' goal gave Delaware Valley the lead for good.
