DELVAL MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS BRYN ATHYN

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College's first game on the new turf field saw the Aggies dominate from start to finish, en route to a 5-0 blanking of non-conference foe Bryn Athyn College.

Delaware Valley won its second straight contest and improved to 7-5-1 while the Lions fell to 1-9.

Two of the team's home games this year were scheduled for the new surface at Robert A. Lipinski Field at James Work Memorial Stadium and Thursday afternoon was the first of those contests. They will return to the grass field for Saturday's Freedom Conference game against King's College before hitting the turf again next Wednesday, October 16 against league foe Wilkes University.

Delaware Valley put 17 shots on the board in the first half and did not allow one until the final minute. The Aggies notched 17 more shots in the second stanza to finish the game with a 34-3 advantage. They also held a 7-2 lead in corners.

Delaware Valley got the only goal it would need 17 minutes into the contest as an Adam Roland throw-in made its way into the box and Jordan Robinson tapped it in for his third goal of the year. Six minutes later, Kevin Robinson sent a pass through to Justin Mannato for a breakaway and Mannato connected for his second tally of the year. Jase Shakun then came off the bench and made it 3-0 in the first half as he tapped in a pass from Kevin Robinson for his first collegiate goal.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, Steve Mannato had a touch pass in the box to Alec Scarano and Scarano did not miss as he scored his second goal of the season. Four minutes later, Scarano's shot was stopped but Shakun was there to put in the rebound.

Chase Clement and Andrew Priest combined for three saves and the shutout for Delaware Valley. Johnny Walker had 15 saves in the losing effort for Bryn Athyn.
