DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Sophomores
Courtney Woodward and
Kelsey Zook scored two goals apiece to lead Delaware Valley College to a 5-1, non-conference victory over visiting Neumann University.
The Aggies (1-2) jumped to a 4-0, first-half lead as they notched all four tallies in a 17-minute span. Woodward opened the scoring exactly 13 minutes in off a feed from
Leah Hawthorn. She struck again with and unassisted goal with 11:32 remaining for her third of the young season.
Zook, a transfer, notched her first goal as Aggie as she grabbed a feed from
Taylor Prichett and connected with 10:31 to go in the half. Six minutes later, Hawthorn then made 4-0 with her first goal of the year.
Jessica Summers picked up the assist.
Neumann (0-3) hit the scoreboard 12:45 into the second half as Chelsa O'Donnell scored off an assist from Marisa Rizzo. Zook got her second tally of the game with just 27 seconds left on the clock and Prichett recorded her second assist.
Delaware Valley held advantages of 32-6 in shots and 8-2 in corners. Junior
Sandra Edwards had three saves in her first collegiate win. Lindsey Kasecamp and Nicole Galvin combined for 22 saves for the Knights.
