DELVAL FIELD HOCKEY STAYS PERFECT IN FREEDOM PLAY WITH 3-0 WIN OVER DESALES

CENTER VALLEY (PA) – Delaware Valley College received goals from three different players as the Aggies improved to 2-0 in Freedom Conference play with a 3-0 blanking of host DeSales University.

The victory continued Delaware Valley's run as the “weekend warriors.” The Aggies are 4-0 overall in games played on Saturday and 0-6 in games played during the week. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the Freedom.

Jessica Summers gave Delaware Valley all the scoring it needed as she connected off a rebound nearly 15 minutes in. It was the first goal of the sophomore's career. Seven minutes later, fellow sophomore Courtney Woodward pounced on a rebound opportunity and notched her fourth goal of the season.

The Aggies added to their lead with 15:30 remaining as, Rony Jacober scored off a corner for the senior's third goal of the year. Freshman Taylor Prichett was credited with the assist.

Delaware Valley outshot DeSales, 27-11, and also held a 13-9 advantage in corners. Junior Sandra Edwards stopped six shouts for her second career shutout. Victoria DelToro made 16 saves for the Bulldogs.
