CENTER VALLEY (PA) – Delaware Valley College received goals from three different players as the Aggies improved to 2-0 in Freedom Conference play with a 3-0 blanking of host DeSales University.
The victory continued Delaware Valley's run as the “weekend warriors.” The Aggies are 4-0 overall in games played on Saturday and 0-6 in games played during the week. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the Freedom.
Jessica Summers gave Delaware Valley all the scoring it needed as she connected off a rebound nearly 15 minutes in. It was the first goal of the sophomore's career. Seven minutes later, fellow sophomore
Courtney Woodward pounced on a rebound opportunity and notched her fourth goal of the season.
The Aggies added to their lead with 15:30 remaining as,
Rony Jacober scored off a corner for the senior's third goal of the year. Freshman
Taylor Prichett was credited with the assist.
Delaware Valley outshot DeSales, 27-11, and also held a 13-9 advantage in corners. Junior
Sandra Edwards stopped six shouts for her second career shutout. Victoria DelToro made 16 saves for the Bulldogs.
