DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Gwynedd-Mercy College received goals from Brooke Oliver and Sarah Jackson as the Griffins went on the road and downed Delaware Valley College, 2-1, in a non-conference game.

The win was the fifth for Gwynedd-Mercy in its last six games as it improved to 5-2 on the season. The Aggies fell to 2-4.

Delaware Valley dominated the game early and wound up with a 16-5 shot advantage in the first half. It also had eight penalty corners, but Griffin goalkeeper Kelly Kruk notched 13 saves in the stanza (14 for the game).

Late in the half, Oliver put Gwynedd-Mercy on the scoreboard as she converted a pass from Brianne Kline off a corner opportunity. The Griffins then made in 2-0 just 63 seconds into the second half as Jackson took advantage of a rebound opportunity and put in her third goal of the season.

Delaware Valley made things interesting with 7:15 remaining as Leah Hawthorn deflected in a pass from Jessica Summers for her second goal of the season. However, the Aggies could not get another shot the rest of the way. Sandra Edwards finished with seven saves in the loss.
