MASTERSON, PITTS SHINE AT MUHLENBERG INVITATIONAL

ALLENTOWN (PA) – All-Americans Tom Masterson and Travis Pitts combined for three, first-place finishes as Delaware Valley College competed at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday. Team scoring was not held at the event.

Masterson, a two-time national qualifier and 2011 All-American (third place) in the javelin, took top honors at Muhlenberg thanks to a throw of 61.26 meters. That followed his third-place showing at the Danny Curran Invitational last week.

Pitts, who took eighth in the 100-meter dash at last year's NCAA Championships, made it two-for-two this outdoor season as he crossed the finish line in 10.87 seconds. He then ran the 200 meter dash and took top honors as well thanks to a time of 22.31 seconds.

On the women's side, Alexis Maylor had a pair of top five finishes for the Aggies. She was third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.05 seconds, while her 27.17 seconds in the 200-meter dash was good enough for fifth place.

Rachelle Salem was fifth in the hammer throw (36.79 meters) and eighth in the shot put (9.88 meters). Teagan McCardle took sixth in the javelin (31.06 meters) and Alisha Jordan was seventh in the 5,000-meter run.
