FIVE CHAMPIONS HIGHLIGHT DELVAL'S SHOWING AT FRANK COLDEN INVITATIONAL

COLLEGEVILLE (PA) – The Delaware Valley College men's and women's track and field teams had five first-place finishers, including Travis Pitts in a pair of events, as the Aggies placed in the top five on both sides at the Frank Colden Invitational (Ursinus College).

The women took fourth out of 10 teams with 30 points while the men were fifth out of 10 with 45 points.

Pitts led the Delaware Valley men as the 2011 outdoor track and field All-American hit the tape first in both the 60-meter and the 200-meter dash. He topped 31 competitors in the 60 with a time of 7.01 seconds and followed with a time of 23.03 seconds in the 200 to defeat 28 other runners.

Fellow senior and outdoor All-American Tom Masterson took top honors in the long jump with a leap of 6.34 meters. Jabari Jackson placed in two events as he was fourth in the triple jump (12.06 meters) and sixth in the long jump (5.59 meters). Delaware Valley also received points from Naadir Betts (eighth in 200-meter dash), Andrew McMillan (eighth in 5,000-meter run) and Tyler Morton (fourth in pole vault).

Meghan Donovan and Alisha Jordan paced the Delaware Valley women with first-place showing in the high jump and the 5,000-meter run respectively. Donovan, a senior who earned All-American honors at both the 2011 indoor and outdoor championships, cleared the bar at 1.58 meters. Jordan, a junior, ran the 5,000-meters in 19 minutes, 48.48 seconds.

Delaware Valley also received points from Tracey Forsythe (third in the 1-mile run), Lindsey Leisenring (sixth in the pole vault) and Brittany Daniel Roberts (seventh in the pole vault).

Rowan University captured the men's team title with 124 points while host Ursinus took home the women's crown with 200.5 points.
