Alisha Jordan and
Travis Pitts notched first-place showings as Delaware Valley College competed at the Susquehanna University Open for its final tuneup before next weekend's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships. Team scoring was not held at the event.
Jordan took top honors in the 5,000-meter run as she was clocked in 19 minutes, 37.12 seconds. Teammate
Tracey Forsythe was next in the event at 20 minutes, 3.5 seconds. Freshman
Alexis Maylor had a pair of fifth-place finishes in the high jump (4-9.75) and the long jump (16-0.25).
Pitts kept his strong season going by crossing the finish line first in the 60-meter dash with a time of exactly seven seconds. Pitts is the two-time defending MAC champion in the 55-meter dash.
Tom Masterson placed second in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 3.5 inches. Masterson and Pitts were joined by
Naadir Betts and
Charles Logue for the Aggies' 4X200 relay team that placed fifth with a time of 1 minutes, 35.42 seconds.
The MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place at Lehigh University on Saturday, February 25.
