COLLEGEVILLE (PA) –
Tom Masterson and
Travis Pitts took first in the high jump and the 60-meter dash respectively while
Alexis Maylor placed in the top three in three events to highlight Delaware Valley College's showing at the Ursinus College Open.
The Aggie women placed sixth out of 10 teams with 27 points while the men were ninth out of 10 teams with 24 points. Dickinson College took the team title on both sides (135 points for the women, 114 points for the men).
Masterson and Pitts, 2011 outdoor All-Americans, continued their dominance during this indoor season. Masterson cleared the high jump bar at 5 feet, 10.75 inches while Pitts was clocked at 6.96 seconds in the 60. Pitts also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.32 seconds.
Jabari Jackson picked up the team's remaining points as he was eighth in the triple jump (40-2.25).
Maylor notched all but five of the Delaware Valley points on the women's side. She was the runner-up in both the 200-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles with times of 27.50 seconds and 9.83 seconds respectively. The freshman then took third in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 11.50 inches.
The remaining points came in the 4X400 relay as the team of
Stephanie Unger,
Brittany Roberts,
Kimmy Haines and
Tia Taylor crossed the finish line fourth with a time of 4 minutes, 44.64 seconds.
