COLLEGEVILLE (PA) – The Delaware Valley College men's and women indoor track and field teams opened its 2012-13 seasons by competing in the Bow-Tie Classic at Ursinus College. The Aggie men took 10th out of 13 teams while the women tied for 13th out of 16 squads.
Delaware Valley racked up 16 points on the men's side, including seven by
Brian Carter. He took third in the 60-meter dash (7.08 seconds) and followed with an eighth-place showing in the 200-meter dash (24.47 seconds).
Greyson Smith took fifth in the triple jump (39-4.50) and
Andrew McMillan was sixth in the 5,000-meter run (17:20.04). The remaining two points came from the 4x400-meter relay team.
The Aggies' lone five points from the women came from
Michelle Salvemini as she took fourth in the pole vault as she cleared the bar at 7 feet, 6.5 inches.
The host bears captured the women's title while Gwynedd-Mercy College topped the men's field.
