AGGIE FIELD HOCKEY EARNS 5-0 WIN OVER IMMACULATA

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Lydia Spakosky and Kelsey Zook each had a goal and two assists as Delaware Valley College blanked visiting Immaculata University, 5-0, in Tuesday's afternoon's non-conference game.

The win improved the Aggies to 6-7 on the season and it ended an unusual trend where the team was undefeated on Saturdays and winless on any other day of the week. The Mighty Macs fell to 1-10 with the loss.

Delaware Valley's first four goals came off of corner opportunities with Spakosky and Zook teaming up for the first two. The first was just over nine minutes into the contest as Zook slide a pass to Spakosky and she blasted home her second goal of the year. Five minutes later, the two traded spots for the second goal as Zook connected for her fifth tally of the season.

The Aggies made it 3-0 with 7:35 left in the opening half as Rony Jacober deflected a shot from Spakosky for her fifth goal of the year. Delaware Valley then scored twice in a 29-second span late in the second half as Leah Hawthorn notched her seventh goal of the year (off an assist from Zook) and Courtney Woodward found the back of the cage for the fifth time (unassisted).

Delaware Valley held advantages of 28-4 in shots and 17-4 in corners. Freshman Emily Aldridge stopped three shots and picked up the shutout in her first collegiate start. Patsy Murphy was credited with 14 saves for Immaculata.
