PURCHASE (NY) – Marianne Morton scored with 15:01 remaining and goalkeeper Julie Burnell recorded 11 saves as Delaware Valley College picked up a 1-0 victory at Freedom Conference foe Manhattanville College.

The win was the first for the Aggies in conference play as they improved to 3-9 and 1-3. The Valiants fell to 5-8 and 1-3.

The game was scoreless for nearly 75 minutes with the majority of action taking place in the Aggies' end. However, midfielder Kara Fecanin send a pass forward and Morton had a breakaway. The junior beat Manhattanville goalkeeper Grace Kraemer for her third goal of the season.

Burnell took care of the rest, including a full-extension diving save off a Tori Lettieri shot with just more than two minutes remaining. It was one of eight saves by Burnell in the second half as the senior picked up her second shutout of the year.

The Valiants had advantages of 19-7 in shots and 8-3 in corners. Kraemer finished with one save in the loss.
