GENTILE'S OVERTIME TALLY LIFTS AGGIES PAST IMMACULATA

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Dana Gentile scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner just one minutes into the second overtime, as Delaware Valley College notched a 2-1 triumph over visiting Immaculata University in a non-conference game.

The win improved the Aggies to 2-0 on the young season while the Mighty Macs fell to 0-1-1.

Delaware Valley wasted no time in the second extra session as Miranda Schieler sent a crossing pass from the right side into the box. Gentile was there to receive the cross and the senior deposited it into the net for the victory. Gentile was coming off a four-goal performance in Thursday's 7-0 season-opening win at Philadelphia Biblical University.

Gentile gave the Aggies a 1-0 lead with an unassisted tally 16 minutes into the contest. Immaculata tied it up with just 30 seconds left in the opening half as Zena Tracey scored off an assist from Kim Steinke. It remained 1-1 until Gentile's heroics in the second overtime.

Delaware Valley held a 20-19 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in corners. Julie Burnell made 10 stops in the win while Meghan McCurnin had nine saves for the Mighty Macs.
