OWNINGS MILLS (MD) – Ramapo College scored the first five goals of the game and went on to a 7-2 victory over Delaware Valley College in the first day of competition at the Black Eyed Susan Tournament hosted by Stevenson University.
The Aggies, who fell to 1-1 on the season, will return to tournament action on Sunday against William Paterson University.
The Roadrunners (2-0) struck three times in the opening 14 minutes, including two by Amanda Barretta. They then added two more tallies in an eight-minute span for a 5-0 advantage.
Delaware Valley hit the scoreboard with 2:08 to go in the first half as
Rony Jacober notched an unassisted tally. The second half saw Victoria Ahlers and Amanda Ferry scored goals for Ramapo with a
Leah Hawthorn goal sandwiched in-between for the Aggies. It was Hawthorn's second goal of the year.
Ramapo held a 26-10 advantage in shots.
Hollis Hancock recorded 13 saves for Delaware Valley.
