AGGIES DROP 1-0 DECISION TO REGIONALLY-RANKED ARCADIA

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Sara Volk-Perez scored midway through the second half and it was the lone goal of the contest as regionally-ranked Arcadia University posted a 1-0 road victory over Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

The Knights, who entered the game ranked third in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Middle Atlantic Region poll, improved their mark to 7-1-1. The Aggies were ranked in the region (10th) last week before dropping out in yesterday's new poll. They saw their record fall to 3-3-2.

The game was scoreless until Volk-Perez took a feed from Alex Stoner and beat Delaware Valley goalkeeper Julie Burnell for her fourth goal of the season. The tally came with 26:34 left on the clock and the Arcadia defense took care of the rest as it allowed just two shots in the second stanza.

The Knights held a 12-6 overall advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corners. Jackie Law earned the shutout with three saves. Burnell stopped seven shots in the loss.
