ALVERNIA POSTS 5-0 WIN OVER DELVAL

READING (PA) – Miranda Peto scored a pair of goals, including one just 38 seconds into the game, to lead Alvernia University to a 5-0, non-conference victory over visiting Delaware Valley College.

Peto wasted no time putting the Crusaders (7-2) on the scoreboard with her unassisted tally. It remained 1-0 for the next 20 minutes until Katy Eby notched her fourth goal of the year. Peto then struck again off an assist by Erin Solley with 6:25 remaining in the first half for a 3-0 advantage. Solley picked up her first goal of the year early in the second half while Sam Landis completed the scoring with her sixth tally of the season with 6:13 to go.

Alvernia's defense did allow a shot in the game and Erin Wunsch was credited with her third shutout in goal. Hollis Hancock recorded 16 saves for the Aggies (2-6).
