ALLENTOWN (PA) – Muhlenberg College scored the first four goals of the game, en route to a 4-1, non-conference victory under the lights over visiting Delaware Valley College.
The game between the two teams was originally scheduled for this past Wednesday night, but was postponed due to inclement weather. Both had a rare opening on Saturday as the Mules (3-1) had a game last night while the Aggies (2-1) host Gwynedd-Mercy College on Sunday afternoon (game now moved from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Muhlenberg found the net less than 11 minutes into the contest as CJ Graetzer connected off a feed from Meghan O'Grady. That was all the scoring in the first half, but Muhlenberg struck twice in a two-minute span early in the second for a 3-0 advantage. Jilliam Moretto notched her second goal of the season while Graetzer hit again.
The Mules made it 4-0 with 7:35 remaining on an unassisted tally by Audrey Zamichow. Delaware Valley avoided the shutout with 5:07 to go as sophomore
Marianne Morton's unassisted goal was her first of the season.
Muhlenberg held advantages of 29-4 in shots and 3-1 in corners. Michele Toher made two saves for the win while
Julie Burnell stopped nine shots for the Aggies.
