AGGIES NOTCH 2-0 SHUTOUT OVER KING'S

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Dana Gentile and Marianne Morton notched first-half goals to lead Delaware Valley College to a 2-0, Freedom Conference victory over visiting King's College.

The win was the second straight for the Aggies as they improved to 5-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom. The Lady Monarchs fell to 2-9 and 0-2.

Midway through the opening stanza, Gentile got a ball and beat King's goalkeeper Lauren Duguid for the senior's team-best 10th goal of the season. Then with 9:17 left before the intermission, Marianne Morton took a feed from Ariel Butera and notched her third goal of the season.

Delaware Valley's defense permitted just two shots in the second half and six for the game (the Aggies had 11 shots). Julie Burnell picked up her second straight shutout as she stopped five shots. Duguid had four saves for King's.
