AGGIES DROP FRIDAY SHOWDOWN AT WILKES

EDWARDSVILLE (PA) – Wilkes University scored in the opening minutes and added an insurance goal late as the Lady Colonels downed visiting Delaware Valley College, 2-0, in a Freedom Conference game.

Wilkes (2-7, 1-2 Freedom) hit the scoreboard just over three minutes in as Ashley Ream pounced on a rebound and beat Aggie goalkeeper Hollis Hancock. It remained 1-0 until 2:44 was left on the clock when Kaitlyn Bevans took a pass from Kerryn Redcay and put a shot inside the left post to seal the contest.

The Lady Colonels racked up 22 shots while their defense allowed just one. Wilkes also had a 14-3 advantage in corners. Lindsey Davenport was credited with the shutout while Hancock finished with 16 saves for Delaware Valley (2-8, 0-2 Freedom).
