CLARKS SUMMIT (NJ) –
Kara Fecanin had a goal and an assist while
Julie Burnell recorded her second shutout of the season as Delaware Valley downed host Baptist Bible College, 2-0, in a non-conference game.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Aggies as they evened their mark at 4-4-2. The Defenders fell to 5-4-2.
Delaware Valley got all the scoring it needed just under the 24-minute mark as a Fecanin pass was headed into the net by
Kelsey Krammer. It was Krammer's first goal of the season. Later in the first half, Fecanin found the net for the second time this year as she sent a shot into the bottom left corner for a 2-0 advantage.
Burnell and the Aggie defense took it from there. The sophomore netminder made eight saves as Delaware Valley earned its first shutout since a 7-0, Opening Day win over Philadelphia Biblical University.
Delaware Valley held a 22-16 advantage in shots while Baptist Bible had the edge in corners by a 7-4 margin. Erica Thompson stopped six shots in goal for the Defenders.
