AGGIES DROP DECISION TO THREE-TIME DEFENDING CONFERENCE CHAMP EASTERN

ST. DAVIDS (PA) – Brittany Moyer scored two goals and added an assist as three-time defending Freedom Conference champion Eastern University notched a 6-1 home victory over Delaware Valley College.

The Eagles improved to 9-8 overall and 6-1 in league action while the Aggies fell to 3-13 overall and 1-5 in the Freedom.

Eastern jumped out to a 2-0, first-half lead behind goals from Abby Wagner and Jess Jaindl with Moyer assisting on Jaindl's tally. Katie Lipsit then made it 3-0 just 12 minutes into the second stanza.

Delaware Valley cut into the Eagles' lead with 10:46 remaining as Maddie Raville scored off a penalty corner for her first goal of the season. Senior Missy Milanese was credited with the assist.

However, Eastern answered by striking for three in goals in the final 6:21. Yvonne Herbster notched the first tally while Moyer followed with her seventh and eight goals of the year.

Eastern held advantages of 23-1 in shots and 11-1 in corners. Hollis Hancock record 11 saves for the Aggies.
