DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College received first-half goals from
Leah Hawthorn and
Krystle Mazza as the Aggies posted a 2-0 victory over visiting DeSales University in a Freedom Conference game.
Delaware Valley improved its record to 3-11 overall and 1-3 in the Freedom while the Bulldogs fell to 4-11 and 1-3.
The Aggies notched all the offense it needed with 13:44 remaining in the opening half as Hawthorn took a pass from
Rony Jacober and deposited her team-best eighth goal of the season. Then with 2:43 to go before the intermission, Mazza notched her third tally of the year with
Missy Milanese picking up the assist.
Delaware Valley outshot DeSales, 10-5, and held the Bulldogs to just one shot in the final 35 minutes. The Aggies also had a 12-4 advantage in corners.
Hollis Hancock recorded five saves, en route to her second shutout of the season. Victoria DelToro made five stops for DeSales.
