AGGIES FALL TO CABRINI

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Maura Gordon tallied two goals and two assists and, in the process,  reached the 100-point plateau for her career as Cabrini College posted a 7-3 triumph over host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

The Cavaliers (7-4) jumped out to a 4-0, first-half lead with Gordon getting a goal and an assist during that run. Lindsey Atzert opened the scoring followed by Karlie Gruccio, Lauren Alessi and Gordon.

Delaware Valley (2-9) got on the board with 4:24 to go before the intermission as Krystle Mazza scored her second goal of the season with Rony Jacober picking up the assist.

Cabrini then scored three times in a 10-minute span in the second half for a 7-1 advantage. Atzert and Alessi picked up their second goals of the game and Gordon hit the milestone with her second tally with 16:42 remaining.

Leah Hawthorn scored two goals late for the Aggies with Danni Heller assisting on both tallies for the 7-3 final. Hawthorn leads the team with seven goals while Heller has a team-best three assists.

Cabrini outshot Delaware Valley by a 22-10 margin while the Aggies held a 7-6 edge in corners. Hollis Hancock stopped 11 shots in the loss.
