DELVAL DROPS FREEDOM OPENER AT FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON (NJ) – FDU-Florham scored the first two goals of the game and held on for a 2-1 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in the Freedom Conference opener for both teams.

The Devils (5-7, 1-0) scored the lone tally of the first half as Claire Donohue stole a pass from an Aggie defender and converted with 17:43 remaining. They increased the lead midway through the second stanza on Kim Overland's goal off a Kim Campfield assist.

The Aggies (3-4-2, 0-1 Freedom) made it a one-goal game with 5:21 remaining as freshman Shawna Sullivan notched her first collegiate goal off a feed from Kelsey Krammer. However, they could not strike for the tying tally and the Devils picked up the win.

FDU-Florham held advantages of 18-8 in shots and 8-1 in corners. Julie Burnell stopped seven shots in the loss.
