CATHOLIC RALLIES FOR 3-2 VICTORY

GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) – Catholic University rallied from a halftime deficit and defeated Delaware Valley College, 3-2, in the 2010 Griffin Classic hosted by Gwynedd-Mercy College.

The Aggies (2-0) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead as they notched both tallies in a 67-second span. Dana Gentile opened the scoring with her second goal of the year off an assist from Kara Fecanin with 27:31 left in the first half. Fecanin then set up Johanna Lovallo for the senior's second tally of the season.

Catholic (4-1) cut its deficit in half with 22:49 remaining in the half on a goal by Kelly Donnelly. It stayed that way for the next 54 minutes until Carolyn Girandola tied it up with an unassisted goal. Regina Zolbrod gave Catholic the lead with 13:20 remaining and they held on for the win.

Julie Burnell and Miranda Schieler split the goaltending duties for Delaware Valley and they combined for six saves. Lovallo, Adele Miller and Marianne Morton were named to the all-tournament team.
