DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College received goals from four different players as the Aggies opened the 2010 campaign with a 4-0 shutout over visiting Philadelphia Biblical University in a non-conference game.
Delaware Valley dominated the contest as it held a 41-4 advantage in shots, including a 28-1 margin in the first half.
Grace Kennedy opened the scoring midway through the opening stanza as she took a feed from fellow freshman
Marianne Morton and notched her first collegiate goal. Junior
Ariel Butera followed with an unassisted tally with just 4:09 left before the intermission.
The second half was more of the same as junior
Dana Gentile needed just 1:55 to make it a 3-0 contest. Junior transfer
Merissa Ruth ended the scoring 11 minutes later with her first goal in an Aggie uniform off an assist from senior Johanna Lovallo.
Freshmen goalkeepers
Julie Burnell and Mirandi Schieler each played a half for Delaware Valley and combined for three saves. Kristen Lyszczasz recorded 23 saves for the Crimson Eagles.
