READING (PA) – Senior forward Holly Rich scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Delaware Valley College to a 3-0, non-conference victory at Albright College in the season opener for both teams.

Rich, who was second on the team in scoring last year with eight goals and six assists for 20 points, set up the first tally of 2010 as her pass led to senior Marissa Di Miero's goal with 4:04 left in the opening half.

It was a 1-0 contest until the clock showed less than five minutes remaining when Rich sealed the deal off an assist by freshman Leah Hawthorn. Senior Nikki Rogers wrapped up the scoring off a penalty corner with no time remaining as fellow senior Mindy Minconzi picked up the assist.

Delaware Valley was outshot 10-8 by the Lions but had an 11-6 advantage in penalty corners. Junior Hollis Hancock, who was an all-Freedom Conference second-team honoree last year, recorded seven saves for the shutout. Marquerite DeLucas had four stops for Albright.
