ST. DAVIDS (PA) – Eastern University, ranked sixth in the latest regional rankings, scored four times in a 16-minute span in the second half as the Eagles pulled away to a 5-0 home victory over Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.
Eastern, the three-time defending Freedom champions, improved to 11-3-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. The Aggies fell to 4-10-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference.
The Eagles scored 16 minutes into the game as Kelsey Doutrich found the net off an assist by Allison Inch. It remained a one-goal contest for the next 50 minutes until Doutrich struck again. Kristine Zeiset followed with a goal off a penalty kick with 18:02 remaining while Amy Thomas and Michelle Brown followed with 14:44 and 7:09 left on the clock.
Eastern held a 29-3 advantage in shots and an 11-0 advantage in corners.
Miranda Schieler recorded six saves for Delaware Valley while Alysia Goodman had one stop and earned the shutout.
