DELVAL EVENS RECORD WITH 2-1 WIN OVER MANHATTANVILLE

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Rony Jacober's goal with 13:59 remaining proved to be the difference as Delaware Valley College posted a 2-1, Freedom Conference victory over visiting Manhattanville College.

The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Aggies as they improved to 8-8 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The Valiants fell to 7-8 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Delaware Valley opened the scoring with 7:16 remaining in the first half as Danni Heller notched an unassisted tally, her third goal of the season. However, Manhattanville tied it up just 20 seconds later as Kayla Meenan scored off an assist from Alyssa Nardone. It remained a 1-1 game for the next 28 minutes until Jacober took a feed from Marissa Di Miero and beat Valiant goalkeeper Melissa Grant for her team-best 11th goal of the year.

Manhattanville held advantages of 15-5 in shots and 7-2 in corners. Hollis Hancock stopped 11 shots for Delaware Valley while Grant was credited with three saves.
