DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Michelle Hickey's goal five minutes into the second half was enough for FDU-Florham to come away with a 1-0 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Devils, who improved to 10-4-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in league play. The Aggies saw their record fall to 4-9-1 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.
After a scoreless first half, FDU-Florham picked up the lone tally of the day as Brittany Kanickij sent Michelle Hickey pass and she converted for her third goal of the season. The Devil defense took care of the rest as they allowed just one shot over the final 40 minutes.
FDU-Florham finished with a 15-5 overall advantage in shots while Delaware Valley had a 3-1 edge in corners. Melanie Pierson stopped four shots and picked up the shutout for the Devils while freshman
Miranda Schieler made eight saves for the Aggies.
