ANTONUCCI'S SECOND-HALF HAT TRICK LIFTS AGGIES TO 4-1 WIN

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Tom Antonucci notched a hat trick in the second half and, in the process, tied the school's single-season scoring record in just seven games as Delaware Valley College posted a 4-1 victory over Valley Forge Christian College in a non-conference game.

The win was the third straight for the Aggies, who improved to 5-2 on the season. The loss dropped the Patriots to 4-5.

Antonucci, a junior transfer from Division I Rider University, now has 10 goals and six assists for 26 points. He has already matched Phil Bowen's point total from the 1998 campaign and still has 11 games remaining on the schedule. The 10 goals by Antonucci trails Bowen's record total in that category by just one while his six helpers is one shy of matching teammate Eric Maciag's mark from the 2007 campaign.

With the scored tied at 1-1, Antonucci netted home what proved to be the game-winner just five minutes into the second half off an assist from D.J. Meisinger. Antonucci then the team some breathing room with 23:41 remaining as he took a feed from Tom Masterson and banked one in off the right goalpost. He completed the hat trick with 14:23 to go as he one-timed a beautiful pass from Tyler Yankovich.

Yankovich gave Delaware Valley a 1-0 lead just 3:29 into the contest as he took a pass from Eric Devlin and beat Valley Forge starting keeper John Schank for his second goal of the year. Valley Forge tied the contest 12 minutes later thanks to a goal by Erak Christofis off an assist from Aaron Earle. It stayed that way until Antonucci's big second half.

The Aggies held advantages of 28-11 in shots and 11-3 in corners. Senior Steve Richtmyer had his first start of the season in net and was credited with six saves. Schank and Mark Bowman combined for seven saves for the Patriots.
